Follow up to the September 28 SHC Webinar
Our thanks to those participating in last week’s Sustainable Haiti Coalition Webinar. We felt the call was highly successful in having people share information about their initiatives and align on some of the needs for further action.
Our immediate Call to Action – and our challenge to you as Coalition members – is to follow this up with specific proposals, initiatives, and projects both here and on the ground in Haiti, and to have a broader impact on policy and implementation through our combined voice, so as to lay the foundations for a sustainable future.
To this end we are inviting your participation in the Founders’ Circle, Leadership Council, or specific action committees. There is a role for everyone who wants to be involved; our goal is principally to be of service to you, and to the people and the nation of Haiti.
In particular, we’re proposing the following specific teams:
A] Communications and Outreach: Info Hub for both general Intelligence sharing and sector specific postings of emerging news; Postings of events, conferences, forums, virtual meetings, pertaining to Sustainable Haiti where we can promote the Coalition and gain info and partners through networking.
B] Investment Fund: Developing the matching mechanism between private investment, foundations and public grants with the ‘Suite of Sustainable services that comprises the Coalition
C] Coalition Governance Team: Creating structures to support Management and Coordination of our partnerships, projects, growing ranks and linkages to emerging initiatives
In addition, we’re adding a new “supporter” level for individuals to become SHC Ambassadors. This is an opportunity to play a defining role in the Coalition’s outreach initiatives.
Our next event is a committee organizing call / web meeting at 2 p.m. EST on October 18; and the next Coalition Webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, November 3, 3 p.m. EST. Please RSVP and join us for these important organizing events. Please also “save the date” for Tuesday, December 14, 6 p.m. for our Haiti Holiday Party.
If you have not already done so, we invite you to download and complete our free membership form, and give us a brief synopsis of your organization, interests, and projects, and let us know if you want us to post these to this site.
